The physics 2D engine that is used nowadays to create games that are based on the laws of physics has become very popular among developers and is being used to create extremely popular physics based games that are generating a great deal of interest in the gaming industry and in particular the primary audience is the teen age group. The beauty of the games lie in the fact that they are addicting and can keep players hooked for hours and still come back for more. Some of the interesting games include Incredibots and bridge building platforms where one has to put our common knowledge of shapes and structures to complete each level successfully. Another more successful category in the physics arcade segment is that of the balancing games. These games are being used to create fun and challenging multilevel games that have become extremely popular in the free online arcade market.
The physics 2D games engine is continuously being worked upon and more refined and exciting games are on the anvil. The gaming industry is now shifting its focus on the introduction of artificial intelligence games based on the principal of physics, these games have found great favor among the online players who are now fed up with the violent and age old categories of driving and shooting.
The very fact that online players are themselves demanding such brain tickling physics games means that in the future one can expect more such games. The physics 2D engine provides a simulation of simple physics laws in action, they were first used in collision detection and other real life simulations and later as technology advanced the basic version that represents the physics 2D engine has become useful in creating games and is a freely available tool. This is being used extensively by game developers and with a great deal of success to create physics simulation games that detect motion and other physical systems like rigid body dynamics.
